Sonia Hermosillo suspected of throwing her baby from the fourth storey of Children's Hospital - 24th Aug 2011

A mother has been arrested for attempted murder after an infant boy was critically injured when he plunged at four stories from hospital car park.

Sonia Hermosillo, 31, is being held without bail by police in Orange County in southern California following a police search for the child's parents.

Mystery initially surrounded the seven-month-old baby's fall from a ledge at the Children's Hospital of Orange County, with no parents present and no obvious way of identifying a child.

However, earlier that evening the baby's father, Noe Medina, had called police to report the boy missing.

Surveillance video showed Hermosillo's tan Chevrolet Blazer with an empty child seat leaving the parking structure shortly after the baby fell.

The female driver was the only person in the vehicle and the license plate was traced to the Hermosillo home. Read More
