Husband shoots dead six including his wife and himself in front of their son after family quarrel at boy's eleventh birthday party in a roller rink

A husband shot dead five people including his wife before turning the gun on himself in front of their son at the boy's eleventh birthday party.

The shooting spree happened as the couple quarrelled at Forum Roller World roller rink in Grand Prairie, Texas.

He drew a gun, killing five and wounding four others before shooting himself. The victims were teenagers and adults.

'This was a domestic situation that went south in a hurry,' local officer John Brimmer said. 'The shooting lasted only seconds.'

The family had booked the entire skate rink for the evening to celebrate the boy's birthday when the shooting began at 7pm. Within a minute five officers were on the scene.

Sen Nguyen, father of two children at the party, said his 12-year-old daughter called him moments after the tragedy happened.

He said: 'She got scared. She was crying. It's terrible. We just pray for the victims.'

Mr Nguyen knew the killer. He told NBC DFW:'He was a friendly guy. I don't believe it happened like this. He was a family man.' Read More
