4.8 Magnitude Earthquake SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC RIDGE - 26th July 2011

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake has struck the Southern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of 10 km ( 6.2 miles), the quake hit at 13:27:02 UTC Tuesday 26th July 2011. The epicenter was 678 km (421 miles) South of Ascension Island
No damage or injuries reported at this time
