A magnitude 4.8 earthquake has struck off the East coast of Honshu, Japan at a depth of 11.4 km ( 7.1 miles), the quake hit at 01:03:28 UTC Thursday 21st July 2011.The epicenter was 197 km (122 miles) ESE of Hachinohe, Honshu, Japan
No Tsunami warning issued and no damage or injuries reported at the time
