According to locals, his behaviour had become increasingly terrifying in recent days and he had been shouting at tourists.
A woman calling herself Fabiana, who works at the Miami Beach Bar, said: ‘Everybody knew he was crazy. He used to stand on the beach here shouting imaginary conversations with God.
‘He was getting worse and worse, really scaring people over the past few days. He would say to people, “I am God and I’m going to strike you down. I’m going to destroy you”.’ Read More

That is why we all need death penalty even for those who mentally ill, they can never be cured. Fed up with democracy while such crap roams the streets and can't be sent to their country of origin. It is Bulgaria's responsibility to care after him, not Spain, though both are EU. Such vagrants have enough brains to drink beer and take drugs, why should they avoid punishment just because they are considered mentally unstable but still evil?
I was there with my husband at this time, just passing by, it could have been anybody on this poor lady's place, even kids, as there is a playground nearby.

I agree 100% with anonymous, more so after learning that this POS brought madness unto himself by heavy drug use. He even had a profile in a dating site just a year ago! (search elf_canarias). This individual took advantage of the inclusion of basket case Bulgaria into the UE and migrated to Spain where he had diverse "jobs" before falling into homelessness because of his own crazy lifestyle. Now, thanks to the bleeding heart crowd instead of a well deserved noose around the neck this SOB will have a lifetime of warm meals and a bed, way better that the squat he was living in. Truly sad and makes me furious.
And I almost forgot, there are more like him in the island squatting in abandoned houses near the beach. Lessons should be learnt and the authorities should have those squats destroyed and the vagrants evicted, deporting the foreigners among them. Enough of the PC BS!!
oh shut it... you sound worst than him! every single country has mentally ill people and UK happens to have one of the highest count in the world. In fact British tourists are often regarded as unpleasant crowd to have for that and many other reasons.
am I defending this sod? no! do I agree he should be killed? yes! amongst many others that are just as bad and guilty beyond doubt! but stop talking like deporting will solve all your problems.
Drugs channell evil into the world. Evil makes prescious babies that have grown up do terrible things. Evil exists in mentally ill people uncontrolled sometimes. They are not sick, they are possessed.

I agree that this is another horrible example of someone identified as "mentally ill" who went on a rampage because his prescribed self medication happened to make issues worse. But please don't use this jerk as an example to condemn all mentally ill people. If anything, the collective whole (especially those suffering from psychosis) deserve more treatment. And it's not a matter of curing, it's a matter of keeping the illness in check. You wouldn't tell someone with cancer "sorry, the odds are that you are going to die, so we won't be treating it." It's obvious he needed help. Someone should have intervened especially when he became more belligerent and aggressive. It took a poor woman's brutal attack for that to happen. Sad.......
