Florida police have named the 16-year-old arrested for the murder of two British men who were shot dead while on holiday.Sarasota Police confirmed a boy named Shawn Tyson was in custody accused of shooting dead James Cooper, 25 and 24-year-old James Kouzaris.
The bodies of the two young men were found in the early hours of Saturday morning in a rundown neighbourhood in the city, which is situated on the south-western coast of Florida.
The friends, who are former University of Sheffield students, were discovered by officers who were called to a residential street in the north of the city at around 3am.
Neighbours had reported hearing what sounded like machine gun fire.
One man was found lying on the ground outside a government-assisted housing block covered in blood.
The second victim was discovered moments later, lying 50ft away on the other side of the road.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, a Sarasota Police spokesman said. Read More

Death is too soft a punishment for this crime, But I hope he IS tried as a man and therfore at least faces the a death sentance, I'm quite sure how ever that all those Bleeding hearts will say such a punishment is against his human rights or some such crap. So the muderer has a right to live but not the victims.

Im sure the police is matching the 20 bullets the coroner has pulled out of the backs of those poor lads to the Shawns Gun, I doubt they would still be holding him if they had no evidence.

I live in Sarasota and I almost bet they were trying to get some drugs. This is a very nice town. This stuff doesn't happen all of the time here. This is rare. They were staying on Longboat key. I would break into a house on Long boat Key way before going to Newtown and breaking into an apartment there. If they prove he did it. He should be killed the same way the British guys were killed. That is just my opinion. My prayers with the departed.

Why this sound like gucci manes story...I wouldn't be surprised if they tested this young mans G and He might have exploded...im just speculating but we all no sin sourrounds the dope den assuming thats the case. A sad story for all parties involved.
Two routes this killer should now be given;
One: Put him on the frontline with no protective armour and send him in as cannon fodder or even let him make friends with other criminals on the frontline so he can watch them run into the line of fire.
Two: Death Sentence.
Americas prisons are already over populated and has proved little success in reform also punishment. The prison is too nice it will allow him to live away from reality.
If there going to confine him make sure that its in a steel box with no light for as many years as these guys were in age so, 49 combined.

I don't understand how that would lead to someone getting shot dead... I mean I'n England we have all kinds of ethnics and our country is a mix of polish Indian Chinese even Americans and we don't go round shooting or killing them. They should legalize the death penalty and sentence all gangsters to death. There is no point in keeping these blood-thirsty animals alive in prisons and feeding them with our tax dollars.
I bet Shawn Tyson will probably be sentenced to 20 years in prison, where he'll get free meals, TV time, entertainment, and gym; he's set for life and never needs to work.

The justice system over here isn't slow. It's clogged up with police blaming people that didn't do a thing and letting the courts figure it out. My stepmom called the police because my dad was making to much noise in the garage. The police went inside to talk to her, and saw a red mark on her arm, arrested my dad for beating her up. That never happened, She told the police he never touched her. He sat in the same jail for 89 days before releasing him 1 day before his trial.
This kid was arrested for shooting at a car 10 days before this happened, and the state proved it, and let him go.
I don't believe this happened because they were from England. It could have happened to anybody. I have a few English friends that live here, and we are great friends.
The two English guys were in the wrong part of town. How they got there, we might never know. This doesn't make America bad, nor Sarasota a bad place to visit or live. I have lived her 28 years with no problems of getting shot at, robbed.
